Born in Chicago, Illinois, James Adomian's initial goal was to become a radio personality. In 1996, he became a cast member of the popular sketch comedy program MAD TV on Comedy Central. In 1999, while working on the show, he released his first book of comedy CD's, "Comedy Central Presents James Adomian," which went on to sell over 100,000 copies and was a finalist for a 1999 National Book Critics Circle Award. It also earned him a nomination for the 1999 IFC New Media Award. In 1999, Adomian began performing live onstage at Los Angeles' Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre under the direction of Amy Poehler
In 2000, he made his debut as a feature performer on Saturday Night Live, where he appeared for ten episodes and became one of the show's most visible and beloved characters: The San Diego Chicken. He recently completed work on his third book of comedic CD's and is shooting a pilot for Comedy Central.
